Teams And Players
In this year’s IPL auction, a total of ten teams will compete. Each franchise has a budget of INR 90 crores to create their squads. The two new teams that will debut in IPL 2022 are Gujarat Titans and Lucknow Super Giants.
On February 12 and 13, a total of 590 players will be auctioned off in Bangalore over two days. The top players have set a starting price of INR 2 crores. David Warner, Shreyas Iyer, Ravichandran Ashwin, and others are among the players on the list.
IPL Auction 2022: Latest News
According to the BCCI council rules, each of the eight existing clubs could keep up to four players before the auction. Furthermore, each squad can to keep a maximum of three Indian and two foreign players. Also, the BCCI sanctioned the two new teams to keep three players who the current teams released. Each of the two new teams can keep a maximum of two Indian players and one foreign player.
Gujarat Titans, the Ahmedabad franchise, chose Hardik Pandya, Rashid Khan, and Shubman Gill. Lucknow Super Giants chose KL Rahul, Marcus Stoinis, and Ravi Bishnoi. Moreover, the Lucknow team named Rahul as the captain, while the Ahmedabad team gave the skipper role to Pandya.
