Delhi Capitals Vs Knight Riders in the 41st Indian Premier League match in 2022: They faced off against one other on Thursday, April 29. Kolkata Knight Riders suffered once again a defeat, this time losing by four wickets with six balls to spare against Delhi Capitals. The match was set to take place in Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium. The toss resulted in a win for the Delhi Capitals. In addition, the Delhi Capitals chose to bowl first. For Delhi Capitals, Kolkata Knight Riders set a goal of 146 runs with 9 wickets lost in 20 overs. The Delhi Capitals chased down the mark in 19 overs, scoring 150 runs for the loss of six wickets.

Delhi Capitals Vs Knight Riders: Highlights

The Delhi Capitals, captained by Rishabh Pant, put in a strong performance against Kolkata Knight Riders on Thursday, winning their fourth game of the current Indian Premier League (IPL) season. Kuldeep Yadav took four wickets as Delhi Capitals restricted Kolkata Knight Royals to 146/9, allowing them to win by four wickets with six balls to spare. Pant’s agility and reflexes were on display in the 14th over of the Kolkata Knight Riders’ innings when he took a fantastic catch to send captain Shreyas Iyer back to the bench.

Kuldeep Yadav struck Iyer with a bouncer that turned away from him. Iyer was able to go and get a bottom edge on the ball as it lingered just down the pitch. When the ball came close to Pant’s boots, the wicketkeeper extended his right hand.

Pant’s Statement Over The Catch He Took: 

Talking about the catch taken by Pant, after the face off between DC and KKR came to end, Pant stated that he maintained his focus over the ball till the end (keeping his low catch in mind). Further he said that he has been keeping numerous balls in the nets and he claims that catch was his best catch till now in this season.

Delhi Capitals confined KKR to 146 runs at loss of 9 wickets in 20 overs thanks to Kuldeep Yadav’s four wickets and Mustafizur Rahman’s three wickets. Nitish Rana was the leading scorer for Kolkata Knight Riders, smashing 57 runs during the match. 

With six balls to spare, the Delhi Capitals mowed down the objective. At 84 runs and loss of 5, the Pant-led side was in trouble, but Rovman Powell played an amazing 33-ball innings to get his team over the line.

League’s Point Table:

So far in the league, Delhi Capitals took part in 8 matches out of 41 matches played by all the franchises. Out of 8 matches played by them, they won four matches but lost the equivalent number of matches they won i.e. four matches in the ongoing league. The team acquired the sixth position in the point chart. On the other hand, Kolkata Knight Riders took part in 9 matches as well. They won three matches in the ongoing league, however, they lost six matches. Kolkata Knight Riders acquired eighth position.
