Do you know how many players played for India in 100 Test matches? If No, here is the list of who played the Test matches and completed centuries in playing Test matches. A total of 11 renowned Indian Cricketers were pleased with this opportunity. 

On Friday, Forgoing Indian team captain, Virat Kohli completed his 100th Test match and registered his name in the list of elite Indian Cricketers who played for India in 100 test matches. Recently, the 33 year old struck the milestone while his first Test of the two test match series will take place against Sri Lanka in Punjab Cricket Association Stadium situated in Mohali.  Recently, Virat Kohli enhanced the elite list and he is 12th Former Indian Cricketer to register his name in elite club. 

At his salutation on Friday, that He thanked Rahul denoting him as brother. Indeed, Virat Kohli mentioned that this is a remarkable moment for him. Virat implies that his family and dear ones are really proud of his achievement and he thanked them for their constant support in the cricket world. Virat Kohli also mentioned that he received the opportunity to represent India via BCCI. 


Here, the List of Elite club members who achieved playing for 100 test matches: 

  • Sachin Tendulkar: The master of batting owned the record of making his name to the list of players who played 100 test matches. He played numerous matches for India. He made his name in the world of cricket with determination and hard work. As per stats, Sachin played 200 matches during the period of 1989 till 2013. For instance, Sachin made 15921 runs in his cricket career. He maintained the Average of 53.78 with a record of 51 centuries. 
  • Rahul Dravid: Former India head coach played 163 test matches during the period of 1996 till 2012. He smashed 13265 runs at the average rate of 52.63 while making a record of 36 centuries. Rahul Dravid clutched the record of receiving a major amount of deliveries in the Test matches career. 
  • Vangipurapu Venkata Sai Laxman: VVS Laxman presently posted as head of the National Cricket Academy located in Bengaluru. He represented India in 134 test matches during the period of 1996 till 2012. He made 8781 runs at the average rate of 45.97 while making the record of 17 centuries. 
  • Anil Kumble: During the period of 1990 till 2008, former Indian Captain played 132 test matches representing India. He earned the designation of nation’s most victorious Test Bowler taking 619 wickets in the test matches. Until now he is fourth-highest in the world of cricket. He delivered almost 40850  balls in his cricket career. 
  • Kapil Dev: One of the former Indian captains, he participated in 131 test matches in the period of 1978 and 1994 taking 434 wickets. He was elevated as an Indian pace bowler. Kapil Dev smashed 5248 runs while representing India. Also, he took 400 plus wickets in the cricket world. 
  • Sunil Gavaskar: Legendary batsman played 125 matches representing India in the 16 year long notable career, attained 10122 runs at an average of 51.12 and made a record of 34 centuries. Sunil Gavaskar ranked as first batsman in the cricket world to cross the milestone of making 10000 runs in the structure.

Recently, the elite club had a new member in the club and was the 12th member who made the record of playing 100 matches as Indian Cricketer. Other than players mentioned above the remaining members who accomplished a 100 matches record are: Dilip Vengsarkar, Sourav Ganguly, Ishant Sharma, Harbhajan Singh, and Virender Sehwag.
