Statement By The Youngster

“Like I always say, after Under-16, Suresh Raina entered my life like a god as I began to enter the spotlight after the Ranji Trophy. At the age of 13, I participated in the U-14 trials, and that is how my cricketing journey began. I started playing for the U-14 team and then the U-16. I got 50 wickets in 7 matches in the U-16 tournament in a particular season. It was there that Gyanendra Pandey sir saw me and said that my performances ingrained him and he will help me go forward,” said Tyagi in a video.

Kartik Tyagi also added, “there was a time when Raina noticed me. I used to be very silent and observe everything. After his practice, Suresh came to me and asked me what my role was. I said that I was a bowler, and then he gave me a chance to bowl in the nets. He saw my performance and told me that, ‘I am impressed by your bowling, and I will make sure you get opportunities in the future.’ It was great that someone like Suresh Raina noticed my performance and praised me.”
