IPL Team To Follow Covid Protocol: Requisite Three-Day Quarantine

The team undergoes three-days quarantine in their allotted hotel rooms, with every test taking 24-hours. As per Indian Cricket Council the IPL matches (Season 15) tend to begin from March 26 onwards. Further, the team is required to follow the protocol for safety purposes. Hence, the team undergoes quarantine for 3 days. 

A quarantine will take place for three days in the hotel rooms of respective team members. However, take the covid test on the fourth day and the report should appear negative for entering the IPL tournament. As all the ten Franchises need to follow the protocols distributed through IPL Council on Thursday. 

While the player undergoes three-day quarantine, all the players are required to go under the to do in-room testing, if the report of the test shows negative then the player could go forward for the tournament. However, each test takes 24-hours. Moreover, the players need to go for a test till they are under quarantine i.e. three days (until 6th day).

What Does The IPL Council State? 

As per states of IPL document, that after you complete your quarantine period i.e. 72 hours (3 days), the test will take place on the fourth day of quarantine. If the result of the test appears negative then you can go further for the tournament. 

Moreover, the protocol provided by the IPL council does not apply to the people who come into IPL boundaries from other boundaries such as dual services, camps utilized for preparation as per franchises, domestic championship, and national camp- considering players who tend to participate who come and go on the charter flight or travel through roads. 

More About Players

Numerous players plan to join the IPL matches after they finish their numerous bilateral matches they signed with. Moreover, They tend to join the tournament in the month of May-April. The participants who play dual series include Sri Lanka tour by India, Australia Tour of Pakistan, England’s tour of west indies, and Bangladesh tour of South Africa. 

As they fulfill the previous bubble they participated in, they need to undergo a three-day quarantine and go through covid test on the fourth day and come out negative to go through the IPL tournament. Every participant’s schedule seems busy prior days as they need to fulfil the COVID protocol. 

For instance, they are even required to undergo a twin test within 48 hours of entering in the three-day quarantine period. For the players travelling from outside India they take two tests in the prior 72 hours. 


All the Franchises required to undergo the Protocols as stated via IPL council to enter the tournament this year. All players tend to undergo a hard three-day quarantine as stated on Thursday.
