Mahela Jayawardena, the ongoing Mumbai Indians head coach and a veteran Sri Lanka captain, has selected five players for a fantasy T20 XI, with Jasprit Bumrah the only Indian in the side.

While questioned concerning Bumrah, Jayawardena noted that a squad’s wicket-takers always seem to be important, and none of us can finish a game effectively than Bumrah.

Rashid Khan, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Jos Buttler, and Mohammad Rizwan are all the four players in the squad.

Jayawardena statement’s:

Jayawardena revealed to the International Cricket Council that Jasprit Bumrah has often impressed him with his aptitude to deliver at different phases of an encounter. He went on to say this because when you absolutely want something to finish a game, Jasprit Bumrah is the man you call.

Bumrah has taken 67 wickets at an economy of 19.89 in 57 T20Is for India. In the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022, Jos Buttler is the incumbent Orange Cap holder, having successfully amassed three centuries this campaign.

When it comes to Jos Buttler, Jayawardena asserts that Jos would also most likely bat first for him. He is a strong aggressive player who excels with both speed and spinning. He’s been in excellent form recently in the IPL, and he also did well in the recent T20 World Cup, when he performed admirably in arid circumstances in the UAE.

Pakistani paceman Shaheen Shah Afridi has been in outstanding form recently, winning the Sir Garfield Sobers Trophy after being crowned ICC Men’s Cricketer Of The Year.

Jayawardena said that he bowled extremely effectively with the pink ball the year before and will be more than capable of finding significant spin quickly too.

Further he added that he can also be deemed a better attacking alternative because he is a wicket-taking alternative who also delivers well at the finish. When questioned which player he might bring out of retirement to participate in his dream XI, Jayawardena picked Chris Gayle.

Further Jayawardena said that he would open the batting with a 30-year-old Chris Gayle and Jos Buttler, and that would be an startling partnership.

He went on to say that Chris would just stand motionless and hit, leaving Jos doing all of the chasing. When the first T20 World Cup was held in South Africa in 2007, he was at the top of his game, and his debut century against South Africa was memorable. Because Chris has the option of turning a ballgame turnaround, He had start him at the big league level.
