Indian team released the left-arm wrist-spinner Kuldeep Yadav from the Test squad, according to news reports. The left-arm spinner Axar Patel will replace Kuldeep in the Test squad for the upcoming test match against Sri Lanka.

Axar’s Injury

Axar Patel was undergoing recovery treatment from a shin ailment. The injury forced him to miss the South Africa tour as well as the West Indies T20I series. He had lately tested positive for COVID-19.

“Axar Patel was the first choice, but he had to heal. As a result, Kuldeep served as a backup,”  according to a BCCI source. “Now that Axar Patel is healthy and returned, Kuldeep has been released,” the source explained.

He surpassed his previous best of 100 not out with his second Test century. Their collaboration aided India in amassing a sizable lead on the scoreboard.

Jadeja, who displayed a career-best performance in both batting and bowling, was the Man of the Match. The second test match will take place on March 12 at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru.
