Ruturaj Dashrat Gaikwad is a young and talented star of the game. The boy comes from the state of Maharashtra. He specializes in batting as a right-handed batsman. With little to no experience, Ruturaj debuted on an international platform in July 2021 representing the Indian team. Gaikwad’s role on the team is the top-order batter. Indeed, he is a free-striking opener whose game is built around fluid technique.

In December 2018, Chennai Super Kings took a bid on Ruturaj and bought him. Making his first appearance in the pajamas was a stepping stone for him. Furthermore, on 2nd October 2021, Ruturaj scored the very first century of his career.  Ruturaj managed a score of 101 runs not out against Rajasthan Royals. On 15th October 2021, Chennai Super Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders locked horns for the trophy. Nevertheless, in an outstanding portrayal of sportsmanship CSK turned out on top becoming the champions. In addition to contributing to the team’s win, Gaikwad earned an orange cap. The player with the most runs at the end of a season receives the orange hat. Ruturaj Gaikwad’s figure at the end stood at 635 runs. Moreover, Gaikwad also got the award for ‘Emerging Player of The Year’ in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021.

In a jaw-dropping turn of events, Ruturaj has left everyone shocked. Chennai Super Kings opener Ruturaj Gaikwad has fallen down. Gaikwad is now having a difficult time with the bat. So far in the TATA IPL 2022, Gaikwad has been unable to perform up to the mark. He has been dismissed for three single-digit scores in three straight games. This season is completely a stunner in contrast to the previous ones.

In the first match of the season, Chennai Super Kings played with Kolkata Knight Riders. At the opening of the season, Gaikwad faced a 4-ball duck. With a terrific outswing delivery, Umesh Yadav had him edging to Nitish Rana at slip. Then in the second game, Chennai Super Kings faced Lucknow SuperGiants, the latest addition to the league. In a controversial mix-up with Robin Uthappa, the young opener got run-out. This nail-biting performance has got the CSK fans worried.

On Sunday, the knockout happened for the third straight match. It was CSK vs Punjab Kings where Gaikwad faced dismissal with a single run. He edged Kagiso Rabada’s full-length delivery to Shikhar Dhawan, who was ready for the catch, in the slips.

This terrible performance is not the first time. During IPL 2020 and IPL 2021, Gaikwad was in a similar situation. The graph took the initial three losses to rise upwards. Nevertheless, fans and the team have full confidence in Ruturaj Gaikwad. All eyes are on the bounce back everyone is expecting. Social media is not anybody’s best friend. Even the most popular cricketers have been mocked and Gaikwad is no special case.

Let us see what happens this Saturday when it’s CSK vs Sunrise Hyderabad.

There are many sports in the world. Some people likes football, and others likes cricket or basketball. But I love to play cricket because it is a game of gentalman. I am a left-handed batsman and a left-arm orthodox bowler. I played an inter-college tournaments. Also, I represented my college cricket team as vice captain. Ms. Dhoni is my idol, and the Chennai Super Kings are my all-time favourite franchise.
