Early Career

Aman Khan did not pick up the bat until he was in fourth grade. This was because his father wanted him to become an ace fast bowler. Former Indian cricketer Pravin Amre was Aman’s coach at 11 years of age.

According to sources, the turning point in his career came after he met with an accident injuring his thigh and toe. Furthermore, his father insisted on him going to the U-14 tournament the next day, even as a water boy. He somehow persuaded the coaches to let him play, saying that he was match fit.

Despite his injury, Khan played the innings and scored 60 runs in that match.

After that innings, he got promoted to bat at the no.4 spot on the squad list for the very next match.

With his fate on his side, Khan played throughout the whole innings, and single handedly won the game for his team. Seeing this performance, he received a promotion to bat as an opener. And ever since then, he has shown excellent performances at the opening spot.

U-19 Career

Aman Khan’s performances at the U14 and U16 tournaments caught the eyes of the selectors for the U-19 tournament. However, he suffered from a run glut during the second season and was out for the next five months. He couldn’t play cricket at all at that time. But, the fire in him was high and burning bright. So, when he came back, he ended the U19 tournament as the leading wicket-taker with 24 wickets and scored four half-centuries.

Soon after this, Aman injured his left knee ligament. For 45 days straight, Aman trained with all his strength at the nets and played in practice tours to earn his spot for the U19 team of Mumbai.

Mumbai Selection

Aman Khan made his debut for the Mumbai squad at the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2021 after an excellent performance at the U23 camp by the National Cricket Association. He played all the knockout games and was part of the squad which lifted the winning trophy. With brilliant performances like these, he finally received his Ranji Trophy call-up as well.

IPL Career

Aman Khan initially attended the trials for the Indian Premier League for six years. He finally caught a break when the Kolkata Knight Riders bought him for the base price of Rs. 20 lakh at the 2022 MEGA IPL Auction.

Khan showed his run-scoring abilities with his batting performance alongside Shreyas Iyer back in 2018. Furthermore, they had a 127-run partnership in that innings where Khan scored a whopping 85 from just 47 balls.

Aman Khan has played a lot of innings at the DY Patil Stadium and at the Wankhande as well. Therefore, he is no stranger to the pitch and can prove to be a valuable asset to the squad.

End Note

Aman Khan is an up-and-coming talent for Indian Cricket. The Kolkata Knight Rider fans are eager to see how the young talent performs on the pitch. The Kolkata Knight Rider fans would want this youngster to be on the top of his game for every match. And looking at his early performances, it should not be much of a problem. Every player is essential for the squad as the Kolkata Knight Riders aim to bring the trophy back home this season.
