Prompt Life Of Mishra

Amit Mishra is a fast bowler who competes in the Ranji Trophy for Haryana. Mishra’s staple delivery is a swiftly spinning leg break, which he bowls with a gorgeous loop and nagging precision. He also has the best spinner and a well-hidden bad guy.

In 2002, Amit Mishra was called up to the Indian team for the Test series against the West Indies, but he was not given the opportunity to play. He wasn’t chosen here until 2007 once he was called up for playing against the South African A side. He had an initial impression, collecting 5 wickets in that match, and he quickly established himself as a national player with some regular performances.

Amit Mishra was signed by the Delhi Daredevils for the IPL, and he made an immediate impact by scoring a hat-trick against the Deccan Chargers. He had a pleasant demeanor and was not scared to throw the ball about. Amit Mishra has a good IPL-1 season with Delhi, capturing 14 wickets in 11 league matches, and he was soon a national team contender. He traveled to Brisbane, Australia, to compete in the Emerging Players’ event, and shined with the ball as India won.

Career Statistics

ODI Performance

Amit Mishra was included in the Indian team to face the touring Australians in 2008, and he was given the chance to make his mark after Anil Kumble was hurt at Mohali. In the first innings, he grabbed 5 wickets, marking his only 6th Indian to take a fast bowler on debut. In the following, he added two more wickets to his total of seven for the match. Mishra also featured within the next two games, concluding the series with 14 wickets.

After Anil Kumble departed, Mishra thus became the country’s main leg-spinner, taking another 6 wickets in the two-Test series against England in December 2008. He was left out of India’s tour to New Zealand because the seam-friendly surfaces prevented a second spinner from being included in the team.

He bowled brilliantly against Zimbabwe, matching Javagal Srinath’s world record of 18 strikeouts in an international ODI series. In comparison to Srinath’s seven games, he did it in just five.

In the performance and total ODI series against Australia in October/November 2013, he only featured one match. Amit Mishra was then selected for the three-match ODI series against the West Indies, as well as the ODI side that toured South Africa in December 2013. He amazed everyone throughout his appearances in the 2014 Asia Cup.

IPL Performance

Amit Mishra bowled brilliantly in the second season of the IPL, but his team was knocked out in the semi-finals by a ‘Gilly’ storm. Mishra played for the Deccan Chargers before joining the Sunrisers Hyderabad in the IPL. He has been a steady performer in the league, and he is the only player in the IPL to score three hat-tricks. He had an outstanding 2013 season with them, taking 21 wickets and playing a significant part in the Sun Risers’ victories.

Sunrisers Hyderabad re-signed him for the 2014 season after his outstanding performance in 2013. After a great showing in the IPL, Amit Mishra was called up for the Champions Trophy in June and then the Zimbabwe tour in July 2013. Unfortunately, he remained unsold for IPL 2022 season.

Test Match Performance

Amit Mishra previously represented India in a Test match in 2011, when India lost 0-4 against England on their path to regaining the total count 1 ranking in Test cricket. He did, however, get his maximum Test score of 84 on the most recent Test.

Mishra has indeed been in and out of the ODI selections for some time now, but he has yet to make the Test squad. He was expected to succeed Anil Kumble, but he has failed to live up to expectations.

T20 World Cup Performance

Amit Mishra took 2 for 22 against Pakistan and 2 for 18 against the West Indies during the first two preseason games of the 2014 T20 World Cup, earning him the Man of the Match award for both efforts. He was unable to produce under pressure, though, as he bowled for much in both the semi-final and final, which India ultimately lost to Sri Lanka.

Mishra performed a terrific second fiddle to Ashwin during the 2015 tour of Sri Lanka, taking 15 wickets in his absence. However, a lack of options hampered his career after that. Mishra only played two home Tests against South Africa, two against the West Indies, and two against England.

While Amit Mishra maintains to contribute usefully, the emergence of Ashwin and Jadeja has sharply reduced his chances at the highest level. Despite having lasted longer than Ashwin, Mishra has been demoted to fourth-choice spinner because to the development of Jayant Yadav as an all-rounder.
