Harshal joined the squad for the 2010 U-19 World Cup in New Zealand. He was among three players from that squad to bag an IPL contract with Mumbai Indians. Ignored by the Gujarat selectors for the first-class side, Harshal moved to Haryana. He immediately impacted his debut Ranji Trophy season in 2011-12, running through Karnataka and Rajasthan with consecutive eight-for within the quarter-final and semi-final. The Royal Challengers Bangalore gave him a contract within the 2012 Indian Premier League.

Harshal Patel debuted immediately against Delhi, then finally rose to fame when he took an excellent five-for during a flat batting track in Bangalore. He protected an incisive opening spell and wrapped up the tail by taking 3/9 during the last 4.5 overs.

Patel followed up that performance by taking an excellent eight wickets for just 34 runs against defending champions Rajasthan. The opponents got all out for 89. The day finished even with Haryana at 84/8. He became the primary Haryana player in 1991 to catch the selectorial eyes together with his performances.

In the 2012 IPL auction, Patel joined the Royal Challengers Bangalore. Furthermore, he joined the Delhi Daredevils during the 2018 IPL auction. In January 2021, Harshal Patel went from the Delhi Capitals to the Royal Challengers Bangalore before the fourteenth season of IPL.

On 9 April 2021, while playing for the Royal Challengers Bangalore, Patel took five wicket-haul (5-27) against the Mumbai Indians. Harshal Patel is the first bowler to say a 5-wicket haul against Mumbai Indians in IPL. This is often his best bowling figure within the IPL, and he also became the primary player to require a five-wicket-haul against the Mumbai Indians within the IPL. His five wicket-haul also became the third-best bowling figure by an uncapped Indian player within the IPL.

On 26 September 2021, playing against Mumbai Indians, Patel became the third bowler to require a hat-trick, after Praveen Kumar and Samuel Badree for Royal Challengers Bangalore. He took the wickets of Hardik Pandya, Kieron Pollard, and Rahul Chahar, finishing with the figures of 4/17 in 3.1 overs. IPL 2021 Performance

IPL 2021 was super impressive for Harshal Patel. The Royal Challengers Bangalore pacer took a five-wicket haul and a hat-trick against Mumbai Indians. He put up another splendid show within the game against Sunrisers Hyderabad. Harshal got wickets of Kane Williamson, Wriddhiman Saha, and Jason Holder to finish with 3/33. This brought his tally of wickets to 29 within the entire season. This is the foremost by any Indian bowler within the history of the IPL. Harshal Patel surpassed the mark of 27 wickets set by Jasprit Bumrah in IPL 2020.

Harshal Patel’s performance couldn’t help Royal Challengers Bangalore as they lost by four runs. However, the win for Sunrisers Hyderabad ensured they didn’t end the season with the smallest number of points within the tournament. Deccan Chargers and Delhi Daredevils set that record at that time. The defeat for Virat Kohli’s team meant that Royal Challengers Bangalore could only finish third and could play within the Eliminator against either Kolkata Knight Riders or Mumbai Indians.

In Conclusion, Harshal is a splendid player with excellent skills. The Royal Challengers Bangalore fans will eagerly wait to see Harshal perform at his best and clutch matches with his wicket-taking skills.
