Today we are talking about the sector of cricket for ladies. Furthermore, today’s article is on one of India’s lesser-known female cricketers- Sneh Rana.

No matter how popular it’s, women’s cricket isn’t as popular as men’s cricket. With the present rise in popularity of women’s cricket, there are only a couple of names that the planet knows. Sneh Rana

Sneh Rana is an Indian cricketer for the Indian Women’s Cricket Team in both the red and white ball formats. Rana hails from Sinaloa, on the outskirts of Dehradun. Her father was a farmer. She belongs to the Rajput family.

She made her Women’s at some point International and Women’s Twenty20 International debut against Sri Lanka in 2014.

After a knee injury in 2016, she dropped from the team and couldn’t play international cricket for an additional five years. During this era, she played domestic cricket and also played for India B.

In May 2021, she joined India’s Test squad for their one-off match against the England women’s cricket team. Rana made her Test debut on 16 June 2021 for India against England.

In January 2022, she joined India’s team for the 2022 Women’s Cricket World Cup in New Zealand.

Best Performance

Indian women gave a troublesome fight to the England cricket team in their one-off match at Edgbaston. After getting all out for 231 runs in the first innings, Indian batswomen managed to attain past England’s lead within the second innings. They took a 179-run lead within the match while catching England’s score of 396 runs. Shafali Verma became the star with the bat, while Sneh Rana has impressed together with her all-around show.

Sneh Rana became the first Indian to possess a more than 50 score and a four-wicket plus haul on debut. At figures of 131/4, Sneh pulled off a half-century in the second innings. She remained unbeaten on 80 and put together a crucial partnership with Taniya Bhatia.

The one-off women’s Test between India and England led to a draw on the ultimate day, with the visitors defying the house side attack to attain 344 for 8 in their second innings after following on.

Sneh Rana top-scored within the second innings with 80 not out off 154 balls. Rana and number 10 Taniya Bhatia (44 not out) shared 144 runs for the unbroken ninth wicket as they frustrated England bowlers for 30.4 overs.

Till date, Sneh Rana has played a total of 25 matches in all formats of the game. (Women’s Test, Women’s One Day International, and Women’ T20 International) 

Sneh scored a total of 282 runs in all the formats of the game(82 runs in the test format, 155 runs in the One Day International format, and 45 runs in the T20 format). Furthermore, the highest batting average she attained is 82.00. Moreover, she has taken a total of 21 wickets in all formats of the game. She took 4 wickets in the test format, 15 in the Women’s One Day International format, and 6 wickets in the Women’s T20 International format.


Overall, the women of India are making their country proud with their performances. With the ongoing ICC Women’s World Cup, the hopes of the entire nation rests in the hands of the Women in Blue. The team is formidable enough to do exceptionally well and possibly bring the trophy home.
