Personal Life
Nair belongs to Jodhpur, Rajasthan. His father’s name is Kaladharan Nair, and his mother’s name is Prerna Nair. Both of his parents hail from the Alappuzha district of Kerala. Karun’s father is a mechanical engineer who also worked at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium. Furthermore, his mother, Prerna Nair, is a teacher at Chinmaya Vidyalaya, Bangalore. Moreover, Karun has an elder sister as well, Shruthi Nair. After the birth of Karun, the family shifted to Mangalore, Bangalore, from Jodhpur, Rajasthan.
Karun Nair joined the sport as a method of treatment for his weak lungs. He went to school at the Chinmaya Vidyalaya, Bangalore, until fourth grade. Karun switched to the Frank Anthony Public School so that he could focus on cricket a little more. Nair trained at the Koramangala Cricket Academy.

Domestic Career
Karun played his first-class debut in the 2013-14 Ranji Trophy with Karnataka. He scored three consecutive centuries in the final league game. Karnataka won that season as well as the 2014-15 season. In the 2014-15 season, he scored a total of 709 runs, including a whopping 328 in the final against Tamil Nadu. Karun became the first batter to score a triple century at a Ranji final since 1946-47.
In 2018, he joined India A for that year’s Deodhar Trophy. Furthermore, he joined the India Red squad for the 2019-20 Duleep Trophy.
His Indian Premier League career started with Kolkata Knight Riders after joining the squad ahead of the 2021 edition of the Indian Premier League. Furthermore, he went under the hammer at the 2022 MEGA Auction for the Rajasthan Royals squad for the Indian Premier League of 2022.
International Career
Karun Nair made his One-Day International debut against Zimbabwe in 2016. He made his Test debut in the same year against England at Mohali.
Nair scored his first century for the team, with a score of 303*. Because the match was his debut, he became the fastest batter to hit the quickest triple century in terms of games played. Karun Nair becomes the third ever player in the history of cricket to turn the first century into a triple one.
India won the match, and Nair became the Man of The Match.
Best IPL Performance
One of Karun Nair’s great innings came when he was at the Delhi Capitals in 2016. In a match against the Sunrisers Hyderabad. Karun made up an incredible partnership of 81 runs with Rishabh Pant. Even after Pant departed, Nair played till the very end and scored 83 runs. In the innings, he smashed three sixes and eight boundaries.

First Triple Century
Karun Nair smashed an ultra-impressive knock for India during one of their Test series. Struggling at first, after his first-ever century in Test in the same match, Karun did not stop. Karun, furthermore, scored most of his runs running between the wickets. But he did play some beautiful shots to hit a few fours and sixes in the match. Alastair Cook dropped his catch when he was at 217, and he received another life when Bairstow missed a clear stumping chance.
Furthermore, Nair made two-wicket partnerships in the game. He made one with Ravichandran Ashwin when they scored 181 runs in total. Then he made another impressive partnership with Ravindra Jadeja scoring a total of 138 runs. This partnership came as he marched closer to hid 300 run mark.
Karun hit a total of four sixes in his knock. Out of the four, he hit three after crossing the 200 mark. Just 75 deliveries after that, he reached his first-ever triple century. A highly enthusiastic crowd in Chennai greeted his achievement.
