Former Women Indian Cricketer, Niranjana Nagarajan: Niranjana Nagarajan established her name in the world of women’s cricket with outstanding performance. She came into the world on October 9, 1988, in Madras, Tamil Nadu. Currently, she is 33 years old. She became part of the Indian women cricket team in Two Women’s Test Cricket, twenty-two Women One Day Internationals and fourteen Women’s T20I. Niranjana played the role of Bowler in the women’s team. She follows the Right-Handed batting style in the tournaments. As for her bowling style, she follows Right-Arm Medium-fast. 

Niranjana Nagarajan: International Opportunities 

Moreover, she earned the opportunity to play in international tournaments. She represented India in the International Tournaments during the 2008-2016 seasons. Niranjana made her test debut in the tournament against England in August 2014. She played the last test series on November 16, 2014, against South Africa. Niranjana Nagarajan gained the opportunity to participate in the One Day International Debut on August 30, 2008, against England. However, she played her last One Day International Debut on February 19, 2016. She made her way through her T20I debut against England on June 26, 2012. Further, she played her last T20I match against Sri Lanka on February 26, 2016.

Domestic Opportunities Earned By Niranjana:

Niranjana Nagarajan participated in the match during the 2006-2013 season and 2018-present as a participant of Tamil Nadu Women. During the season of 2006-2013, she gained the opportunity as a team member of South Zone Women. As for the 2013-2017 season, she played as a team member of Railways Women. She also paved her way to the Central Zone Women team during the 2013-2014 season. 

Achievements Of Niranjana Career

Niranjana Nagarajan paved her path as a debut in the International Cricket tournament on August 20, 2008, during India’s tour of England. She earned all the opportunities with her hard work and determination. Nagarajan made it through the Women One Day International played against England took place at North Parade, Bath. She became part of Tamil Nadu, Railways, South Zone, and Central Zone in the Domestic tournaments. 

She showcased her talent of Bowling through the English ground when the Women’s Indian team played against England in the 5 matches she got an opportunity for the Test Series in the 2014 season. The England team she bowled out for almost 92 as per her outstanding performance. During the 2017 season, she played two-Test series, 22 Women One Day Internationals, and 14 T20I as an Indian representative.

Career Statistics

As for the Women Test series, she played two matches. Niranjana Nagarajan made 27 runs in the tournament. She maintained an average batting score of 27. Niranjana bowled almost 236 balls. She took 4 wickets over the whole match. She maintained a Bowling average of 23.75. 

During her gameplay in Women’s One Day International, she participated in 22 matches. She made 70 runs in the tournament. Niranjana maintained the batting average of 8.75. She threw 965 balls in the tournament. She took 24 wickets over the tournament. Niranjana maintained her bowling average of 28.04.   

She played as a team member in the Women’s T20I tournament. Niranjana played 14 tournament matches. She scored 42 runs over the tournament. She maintained an average of 7 in batting. Niranjana threw 271 balls in the tournament. She took over 9 wickets. She nourished the bowling average rate of 26.22. 

The Hawk T20 series made it special because of two things. Firstly, The T20 tournament is reputed and had a vast tournament in Women’s cricket before the pandemic occurred. Secondly, She got Covid positive during the pandemic and recovered from the Covid. 

She got infected by Coronavirus in the month of December, and that phase made her suffer a lot over a period of time both mentally and physically. She worked extremely well over her fitness and immune system. After the recovery, she made it to the Women’s T20 series.

Niranjana made her way to the point where she is standing right now. She maintained her dignity while playing and never jeopardized her cricket career. She earned all the opportunities with her hard work and determination to attain the goal of representing India in domestic as well as international tournaments.

I am a left-handed batsman and a left-arm orthodox bowler. I played an inter-college tournaments. Also, I represented my college cricket team as vice captain. Ms. Dhoni is my idol, and the Chennai Super Kings are my all-time favourite franchise.
